International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) | VIRGINIA, USA
Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research SYTAR
Keynote Speaker: Uma Dinsmore-Tuli
Thursday 14 – Sunday 17 June 2018
in Reston, Virginia, USA
SYTAR is IAYT's annual membership conference dedicated entirely to professional education, research, practice, and policy issues for yoga therapy. This is the premier conference for the field of yoga therapy.
Uma is delighted to be invited to be a Keynote Speaker and will be talking about “Yoga Nidra is it - and now is the time to liberate the healing power of Nidra Shakti”. It will be an inspirational account of twenty years of co-creating therapeutic Total Yoga Nidra experiences for recovery, wellness and transformation.
She will also be leading one of the sessions called “Freeing the Queen of Dreams: how to use Total Yoga Nidra creatively and intuitively as a powerful tool for healing and transformation”.
In this session, she will explore how to nurture yourself, nourish your clients, and learn to work together to create intuitive, responsive and powerful Total Yoga Nidra experiences for clients, students and yourself. It will include multiple practices of Yoga Nidra, alongside theoretical background, and practical demonstrations in the co-creation of bespoke therapeutic Total Yoga Nidra experiences. Total Yoga Nidra is a creative, responsive and delicious approach to Yoga Nidra that includes a richly nourishing soundscape of poetry, song, mantra, and several different musical instruments especially helpful in deepening the experience of yoga nidra. It’s a profoundly feminine way to work with Nidra Shakti, the deep healing power at the heart of all methods of Yoga Nidra.
Both IAYT members and non-members are welcome to attend.
