Teacher profile

Full Name:

Sue Blanch

I’m a menstrual cycle educator, mentor, yoga teacher and author of "Yoga and the Menstrual Cycle - Live in Harmony with your Natural Rhythm". I enable women to live in harmony with their natural rhythm using yoga as a tool. I teach women about how they change physically, mentally and emotionally throughout their menstrual cycle, how to become more aware of this and how to practice yoga, and live, in a way that honours their cyclical nature – instead of ignoring or over-riding it (which is so easy to do!). Yoga that goes with your natural ebb and flow creates well-being, healing and balance. It can help alleviate cycle problems and enable you to discover and appreciate the benefits of having a cycle (yes there are some!). I struggled with my cycle for 30 years until I found that tuning into my cyclical changes and the optimal type of yoga at the appropriate time almost totally eliminated my period pain and premenstrual syndrome. I was amazed – and still am! My levels of stress and exhaustion improved as I learnt to go with my ebbs and flows, instead of keeping going all the time. To my surprise, I also discovered benefits to the menstrual cycle that I never knew existed, like times when I’m full of creativity, which I now capitalise on. I have been a contributing tutor several times on the Well-Woman Yoga Therapy course led by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli – and successfully completed the course myself too. I have been taught by women who are experts in the menstrual cycle, including Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer, and trained as a Moon Mother with Miranda Gray. I have been practising yoga since 1997 and have been a British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher since 2014. sue@yogaandthemenstrualcycle.com
