Debbie first discovered Yoga over 20 years ago on the banks of the river Ganges in the holy city of Rishikesh, India and immediately knew she had found what she was looking for. She continues to visit India, both personally and to take students on retreat, delving deeply into meditation and yoga practice, which she has found to be a powerful agent of change in her life. She became a qualified Yoga teacher in Mysore, India, and was blessed with the opportunity to live on several ashrams amongst many great souls whilst travelling around the world for five years, such as Amma in Kerala, Ram Das & Krishna Das in Maui, Swami Vishwananada in Germany & Swami Niranjananda in Bihar – as well as living for a year amongst the sages in Rishikesh, India. Debbie was given the spiritual name Dhanashri (which means to give all) – since that day her life has been dedicated to serving others through Yoga … Debbie’s interest in Meditation and Kriya Yoga began in 1995 after reading Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. She has trained with and been inspired by many great teachers (from the east and west) and is grateful to them all for their shared wisdom. Debbie’s practice is not confined to a yoga mat – it permeates her whole life. She is dedicated to encouraging people to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives through self discovery – and truly believes that everyone has access to all the resources they could possibly need to make change in their lives. That by enhancing awareness through Yoga practice you can begin to live from an intuitive space, a space of clarity, that is full of energy and vitality. A space where anything is possible! Debbie continues to serve a large client base in Southampton and surrounding areas. She also offers retreats in the UK and abroad, workshops and a yearly yoga teacher training course ...
