Yin in Yang and Yang in Yin: Engaged Yoga to liberate and support pranashakti (the life force) | LONDON
22 July 2016 | 19:30 - 21:30
with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Christopher Gladwell
at The Life Centre Islington, 1 Britannia Row, London N1 8QH
A workshop for women and men to honour the presence of the inner masculine energies of Yang, and the deep feminine flow of Yin through movement, breath, mudra, meditation and mantra.
Everyone welcome (… especially those women who have attended Uma’s day workshop, you are warmly invited to bring male friends and partners to this evening session)
Beginning with the pure yin nourishment of Total Yoga Nidra to nourish and enliven, this workshop then offers the chance to explore through movement the sweet nurture of yin within enlivening Yang practices. Movement and breath, mudra, sound and poetry are all woven together into a fully Engaged Yoga practice that reconnects you to source power (Yoni Shakti).
And then the exploration moves to the tasting of the strength and power of yang within the sweetness of restorative yin and rhythmic shakti liberating practices. The mutual benefits of different energy systems are nourished for the healing of earth and all sentient beings.
Meditative breath, movement and awareness are brought together in this nourishing and comprehensive workshop that heals the imbalances between the different qualities of yang and yin.
All the practices shared in this workshop are described in detail in Uma’s book Yoni Shakti and Christopher’s book Engaged Yoga. Copies of both books will be available to buy at a discount after the workshop. The practices in these workshops we devised specifically for the Athena Shakti Fest, (see photo) and we are delighted to bring them home to England to share with the the London yogis and yoginis before bringing this work on to Buddhafield and to Santosa Yoga Camp in Glastonbury. If you enjoy the London taster you may want to consider joining us out in the field at these beautiful summer events -
